The Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA) and Ukrainian Advocates' Association (UAA) will jointly develop and draft a new law of Ukraine «On Advocacy», thanks to Konnov & Sozanovsky, joined by other law firms including Vasil Kisil & Partners, Magister & Partners, and Salkom, as well as leading Ukrainian attorneys, who together are sponsoring this work.
Sponsors have undertaken to provide the Associations with the organizational, expert and financial assistance necessary to bring this law-project work to the final stage - creating a new law.
According to Tatiana Gluhovskaya, Konnov & Sozanovsky's Managing Partner, «The activity of Ukrainian advocates must be properly regulated. Our support of UBA and UAA's efforts represent's our firm's steadfast commitment to the highest levels of professionalism within the legal community.»
Work on a new law of Ukraine, «On Advocacy» was initiated by the UBA in 2005. Since 2006, the UBA has been involved in preparing propositions on advocacy reform, supported by Ukrainian Advocates' Association. Over this period, several bill drafts have been prepared and introduced to the Verhovnaya Rada of Ukraine (including an alternative, prepared with the assistance of other organizations).
