On April 19, 2011 The Tax Committee of the Ukrainian Bar Association (UBA), jointly with the Council of Independent Accountants and Auditors (CIAA) hosted a workshop on the Tax Code of Ukraine.
The event raised a lot of interest and proved to be a success among the participants. Leading experts in Ukrainian tax law, such as Yevgenia Derbal (Partner, Head of Tax Practice at Konnov & Sozanovsky), Ivan Yurchenko (Senior Associate at Vasil Kisil & Partners), Iryna Ped (Counsel at S.T. Partners) and Oleksiy Shmatko (Partner with Aksonova & Associates) shared their knowledge on corporate profit tax and VAT taxation of intellectual property transactions, taxation of commission transactions, tax planning under new conditions and main types of transactions with non-residents.
In her much anticipated presentation Yevgeniya Derbal highlighted the procedure of intellectual property objects’ taxation, in particular the changes of taxation of royalties, depreciation of intangible assets, tax benefits for national movies etc., prescribed by recently adopted Tax Code of Ukraine. Yevgenia analysed in details the principles of intangible assets’ management and illustrated her presentation with examples of international IP taxation practice.
Judging from a lively discussion prompted by the above topics they are in deed very relevant and of great interest for both commercial and legal community.
